When does Dragon Bridge breathe fire?
The fire and water show only runs on select weekend evenings, not every night. Because the schedule can shift with the season, holidays, or weather, we'd recommend double-checking the current schedule right before you go — ask your host's front desk, a local Grab or taxi driver, or look up recent information, rather than relying on a fixed time you heard about a while back. In general, the show tends to happen in the later part of a weekend evening and lasts only a few minutes, so arriving a little early still leaves you time to pick a good spot.
The best viewing spots
The west bank, near the riverside park — this is the busiest viewing area since it's close to downtown, with wide pavements and grass to stand on, looking straight at the dragon's head as it breathes fire.
The east bank, on the An Hai/Son Tra side — noticeably less crowded, with a view across the river that's still great, especially if you want photos with the whole bridge and the city lights behind it without fighting for space.
A boat ride on the Han River — for something different, watching the show from the water gives you an unusual angle, with the fire reflecting beautifully on the river surface.
A riverside cafe or restaurant balcony — you get to sit down, see over the crowd below, and skip the jostling at street level, though it's worth arriving early to grab a table with a clear view of the bridge.

- Park a short walk away from the bridge rather than trying to find a spot right next to it — parking near downtown fills up fast on weekend evenings.
- Bring water and stand somewhere with a bit of breathing room, away from the barriers where the crowd is constantly shifting.
- If you're with kids or older family members, the east bank or a cafe seat is a better bet than standing in the thick of the crowd for a long wait.
Pairing it with other nearby activities
Since Dragon Bridge sits right in the city center, it's easy to build an entire evening around it: a walk along the Han River before showtime, watching the bridge light up, then heading to a nearby night market or walking street for food and light shopping afterward.
